This stunning example of Madame Alexander’s Madelaine du Bain was made for only three years - 1939 to 1941. This doll’s composition is in excellent condition with no cracks, crazing, or paint lifts. Original color is gorgeous. There is no fading on her lovely frock, and her under hoop slip is attached at the skirt of the dress with what looks to be a small rust stain on the back of the slip close to the hem. Her shoes are flawless. Her blonde human hair wig is perfection. I love the way the sausage curls hug and frame her face and the back of her head. For being between 79-81 years of age, she has surpassed the test of time in the excellent care she has had through the years. I dearly love this doll, but must send her on to another loving home for lack of space in our new home.
As shown in photo, her eyes were severely “blown” and yellow, but I painted and sealed the irises to their original brown color.
