Lot of 2 Composition dolls from 1940’s!!!
- Original 12” composition doll Jo Jo by Horsman Doll Company. Marked on the back of her head “1937 Horsman” - hard to read
She is all composition. Some crazings, rubbed paint, flaking upper layer to her head , body and extremities - please take a closer look at photos . Sleepy eyes mechanism is working but might get stuck occasionally. Molded hair underneath her mohair wig. Glue residual is present. Jo Jo has a long mohair wig brunette braids. Her wig is in poor condition, missing most of hair except braids, shedding and has bold spots.
Movable limbs. Some indentation to her torso (most likely from stand).
She is wearing new , not original clothes. Some stains are present.
- Another doll looks like Flora McFlimsey created by Madame Alexander in 1948(?). She is 13” tall; all composition. Marked on her back with number 13. Stringing is loose. Sleepy eyes mechanism is working. Her eyes are cloudy. Wig seems to be an original.
Her outfit looks like original one but she is missing her straw hat snd white apron .
Both dolls need some cleaning
