Eugenia "Beloved" Composition Kewpie/Scootles Type Doll Blue Shoes 12" Sun Dress

From a very little known U.S. doll company - Eugenia Doll - is this 12" composition doll that looks a lot like the beloved Kewpie doll. She has the pudgy toddler body, molded blonde hair, blue sleep eyes and "starfish" hands. She has inserted as well as painted lashes and one stroke eyebrows. Her blushed cheeks are vivid and there is matching blush to her knock knees and pudgy hands. Her composition is in overall good condition with an area of lifting on the left big toe, and a small bit under her right ear at the neck socket (see photo.) There is light wear on the top of molded hair - see photos. She wears what I believe are her original clothes: white, button down shirt with peter pan collar, white flannel diapers that have a snap on each side, and a charming smocked dress with a ruffled hem.
Both the back of the torso and head are embossed Eugenia doll, though the back of the head is hard to read. On the web I found:
Not much is known of the Eugenia Doll Company - except that they operated in New York City. They may have purchased dolls from other manufacturers, that they redressed, composition dolls have been found with dress label, tag from as early as 1938 - and later hard plastic dolls into the 1950s.
