Charming Old Baby Doll, Composition, 20”.
This baby was found naked at a flea market and purchased for those big brown eyes! She is wearing an assortment of old doll/baby clothes in fair condition, including a faded rayon doll dress, a homemade cotton tie-on diaper, and an old baby dress as a petticoat, and an old crocheted baby bonnet. Those pretty sleep eyes of hers are nice and clear but there is some glue holding lashes on one eyelid. Her paint has crazing and cracking but no lifting anywhere that I see. She has a chip of missing paint on her forehead. She has nice deeply molded waves of hair with another paint chip behind the mold line on her head and wear to the back of her head. She is unmarked, but of nice quality. Her cloth body is worn and dingy but she has no unpleasant odors and is intact except for where the wire holding her legs on has worn through the cloth, with similar wear at the arms. All in all, she is a very sweet baby doll, most likely dating to around 1940.
